Milford’s very own arts and music festival is a unique must-see event in the New Forest’s summer calendar and an unparalleled showcase for the village, its surrounding area and its local businesses. Taking place over a week in the summer, it attracts over 10,000 residents and visitors to local venues and onto the village green to enjoy a huge variety of musical and artistic entertainment.
This year’s Festival is a celebration of our Village, the local area and our Community so we’ve made some changes that we think you’re going to love. We want it to be
more inclusive, giving local businesses the opportunity to become more involved and to profit from the exposure and footfall the festival brings. We will continue to
run the Festival in local venues on Monday through Wednesday with the Village Green Festival Site running Thursday to Sunday, however, this year we’ll be closing the
Green from 9pm with bands continuing in various venues throughout the village. We can, therefore, offer a range of genres catering for differing tastes whilst enabling
the pubs and restaurants to optimize their revenues.
Other changes include giving priority to local businesses who wish to serve food on the Green, promoting the wonderful array of restaurants in our beautiful Village
and running a number of fundraisers throughout the year providing even more opportunities to enjoy music and the arts. As a local business, you can get involved by
offering up promotions for inclusion in the Friends of the Festival Programme or the raffles – a great chance to promote your brand and entice people along to your
business. Our online reach is growing, at its peak, we had 18,000 visitors to our website, we have over 1,200 likes on Facebook and a growing Instagram base which is
currently at 600 followers. We’ll continue to make more of our online presence and ensure our sponsors and advertisers maximize exposure through these channels.
The Festival continues to be free to attend and run by a group of committed volunteers.
As a not for profit organisation we raise our funds through advertising,
sponsorship, donations, fundraising events and the Friends of the Festival. We’re so very grateful to our sponsors last year whose generosity and support made it
such an amazing event. By closing early we’re significantly reducing our bar revenues in order to give back to the village, so we need your support more than ever,
here are a variety of ways you can get involved.
Thank you for your generosity, for caring about our village and our community and for helping us deliver once again a festival that makes us all feel so proud. We’d welcome the opportunity to discuss how we can partner for this wonderful event, please contact Amanda Scopes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
